About Komira

Why heavy, when elegance can be light?

Komira was started around a simple question: why should dressing beautifully mean wearing something extremely heavy? We believe elegance can exist in subtle details, thoughtful silhouettes and handcrafted elements — worn easily, not endured.

Every piece combines traditional Indian craftsmanship with a more contemporary silhouette, made for women who want something distinctive and wearable — not a costume.

Our Story

A small label, made on purpose.

Komira is run by hand, not by warehouse — every piece made after it's ordered, not before. That's a deliberate choice, not a limitation: it means nothing is cut for a woman who never appears, and nothing sits unsold at the end of a season.

We're still early. Rather than fill this page with a history we don't have yet, we'd rather earn it — one handcrafted piece, one customer, at a time.

What We Hold To

Four Promises

Handcrafted, Not Mass-Produced

Every piece is worked by hand, not assembled on a line.

Considered Fabric

Chanderi, mul, organza, georgette, silk and modal satin — chosen for how each one moves.

Made on Pre-Order

No warehouse of unsold stock — every piece is made because someone asked for it.

Detail Over Decoration

Restraint, on purpose — nothing added that doesn't earn its place.

Made Slowly. Worn Beautifully.

The Craft

Handcrafted details take time — hand embroidery, gota patti, zardosi, kantha stitch and hand-tied tassels can't be rushed. That's also why Komira works on a pre-order model rather than ready stock.

Gota Patti & Zardosi

Traditional metallic embroidery techniques, worked by hand into each piece.

Mirror & Coin Work

Hand-embroidered mirror and metal coin detailing, placed with intention, not repetition.

Kantha Stitch

A running hand-stitch technique used for texture and quiet detail.

Antique Gold Piping

Fine piping used sparingly, to edge a silhouette rather than announce it.

Hand-Tied Tassels

Finished by hand at the dupatta and hem, piece by piece.

Pearl Chain Detailing

A quiet, considered finish at the dupatta's edge.
